Bell Peppers

POTENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS:
-May help prevent or reduce symptoms of joint pain, rheumatoid arthritis, wheezing and tightness associated with asthma, nerve and blood vessel damage seen in diabetics

-Red BELL PEPPERS contain lycopene, a caroteniod that may help prevent or lower ones risk of colon, prostate, cervix, bladder and pancreatic cancer

-Excellent source of vitamin C and A, two very powerful antioxidants which work together to effectively neutralize free radicals.

NUTRIENT PROFILE
Vitamins C, A, B6, Dietary fiber, vitamin K and folate.

CULINARY USES
Best eaten raw, in salads or as a finger food. Also can be roasted, sautéed or stuffed. Great on pizza, in sauces or stir-fries.

TIP
A green PEPPER with streaks of red will be slightly sweeter then one that’s completely green. PEPPERS of vibrant colour (orange, yellow, or purple) are more mature and sweeter in taste.
