Why become a Co-op member? Perks like member-only sales and specials, voting rights and patronage dividends are great — but, you’ll also find purpose at your co-op by belonging to a local business committed to local food security and the wellbeing of your community.
Each membership cost $50. This one-time purchase means that you’ve purchased shares in the Kootenay Co-op, making you a Member-Owner for life. That’s right, no annual fees or monthly subscriptions!
Your lifetime membership will be active as soon as you purchase your shares. These shares are refundable and can be sold back to your Co-op whenever you choose.
For a full list of member benefits please visit our Member Benefits page.
Your membership can be used by immediate family members who live within the same household as you – your spouse, common-law partner, or children. Roommates, friends, and extended family are NOT applicable and must have their own membership.
Only the Member-Owner (the person whose name is on file for the membership) can vote in the AGM — one member, one vote. If another family member in your household would like to become a Member-Owner, vote in our AGM, or serve on our Board, they are welcome to purchase a membership under their own name.
When your Co-op is financially able, a patron return will be completed.
