Who are the Creators at Sweet & Stoked?
Danya (owner/operator)

What do you make?
At Sweet & Stoked we handcraft vegan ice pops in small batches using minimal and quality ingredients to offer a unique and flavourful experience.

Where are you located?
We produce our ice pops in South Slocan, live in Shoreacres and sell our products within the West Kootenays.

How would you describe your company?
We believe in the importance of sustainability within our community and our environment! We are committed to supporting Kootenay businesses by sourcing our ingredients from various local farmers and grocers and use organic products as much as possible. All our ice pops are 100% plant-based and contain no refined sugars to promote inclusiveness of dietary restrictions and options.

How long have you been crafting Ice Pops?
This is my first year owning and operating Sweet & Stoked!

What motivated you to start?
I am motivated to bring wellness to the people of the Koots through tasty frozen desserts! Eating nutritious and wholesome foods doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice taste. So here it is, pops for the people!

What are some of your greatest joys?
Living a healthy and outdoorsy lifestyle. The Kootenays have provided ample opportunity for me to expand my passions of hiking, camping, snowboarding, and yoga. And now that I’m a mother, I’m so excited to share this all with my son and raise him in this mountain paradise.

What are some of your greatest challenges?
Being a parent to a young baby has quite a few challenges, especially when running your own business, but thankfully I have a great partner that helps me get what I need done!

What is your vision for Sweet & Stoked?
Getting people stoked on guilt-free indulgence with a twist of sweetness.

Why is local food and/or local purchasing important to you?
Community is key! There’s an old saying that it takes a village to raise a child, and I believe this is also relatable to business! When we do it together, it gets done better. Keep our community and economy diverse, strong, and supportive.

If you could deliver a message directly to Co-op members/customers, what would it be?
Thank you for supporting local and keeping small businesses operating!
