Co-op Holiday Cards 🎁
This holiday season, we’re grateful for community. During December, all funds raised through our Organization of the Month Program will support three important community kitchens in Nelson – Nelson Community Food Centre, Our Daily Bread and St Saviour’s Food Pantry.
These three organizations provide nourishment to the community, not only through their food programs but also by creating community spaces to gather in.
Purchase a holiday card, artfully designed by talented Co-op staff members, and the full value of the card will be donated to these three organizations. Each card is $10, with 100% of the value of the card being donated to help those in need.
By purchasing these heartfelt cards, you’re not only sharing the joy of the season but also helping provide healthy food, skill-building programs, and a sense of belonging to those in our community would could use a little extra support.
Thanks for your help in making this season just a little bit brighter!

Nelson Community Food Centre
The Nelson Community Food Centre envisions a thriving community where everyone comes together around good food. Its mission is to create opportunities for people facing adversity to share, connect, and advocate for food security.
The organization works to build health, social, and emotional capacity among low-income community members through diverse programming. It aims to increase local food production for its programs, engage in systemic food security issues, diversify food access, and raise awareness about poverty and related challenges. Operating in an inclusive space where all feel welcome, the Centre strives to ensure equitable access to food and community support.

Our Daily Bread
An initiative of the Kootenay Christian Fellowship Society, has been serving vulnerable individuals in Nelson, BC since 2002. Founded by Pastor Jim Reimer and his wife, Doreen, the program provides healthy, nourishing meals five days a week in a safe and welcoming environment. Each year, nearly 20,000 meals are served to those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity, with up to 100 guests welcomed daily.
Beyond food, Our Daily Bread offers essential support services to help individuals rebuild their lives. These include life coaching, resume assistance, volunteer opportunities, emotional support, and spiritual counseling. The organization also operates Herridge Place for affordable housing and the S.H.A.R.E thrift store, striving to ensure access to food, shelter, and clothing while fostering dignity, respect, and community.
