Join Maggie Jones and learn how to create your own delicious, fermented foods right in your own kitchen. Our Basic fermentation class covers the science of the craft and shows you how to make delicious and healthy ferments. Discover the difference between prebiotics and probiotics. We will be making basic sauerkraut in this class.

Maggie has been teaching, lecturing and writing about health and nutrition for as long as some of us have been around! She has raised three healthy and vibrant vegetarian children into adulthood. After over 40 years of vegetarianism, and 15 years living off-grid, Maggie is still passionate about and committed to living a natural healthy lifestyle, with a focus on fun and enjoyment.
Colleen Emery is a Registered Herbal Therapist, Clinical Aromatherapist, Educator and Mentor and founder of Emery Herbals. Passionate about cultivating connection to the natural world and bringing empowerment to healthcare, Colleen’s work and teachings have inspired many other Kootenayites. Her passion even spills over to food security, as demonstrated by her position as Vice-Chair on the West Kootenay Permaculture Cooperative Association’s Board of Directors working to encourage local food security through education and community outreach.
Cindy is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and certified Eating Psychology Coach who specializes in Culinary Nutrition. She weaves her areas of expertise together by infusing nutritional knowledge with culinary passion. Cindy’s mission is to help individuals make realistic and sustainable changes while sparking creativity in the kitchen.
