Baker

The Kootenay Co-op is looking for a full-time Baker to join the Food Services Team in a temporary 3-month position! Do you love creating fresh breads, desserts and scratch-made baked goods? SKILLS + QUALIFICATIONS

• Food Safe Level 1 certification
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet production deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and reliability under pressure
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
• Minimum 3 years professional bakery experience

DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare daily baked goods for café, showcase, and grab-and-go
• Create ingredient order lists and ensure accurate signage
• Maintain sanitary food handling and kitchen cleanliness
• Deliver consistent, high-quality products and meet production deadlines
• Coordinate production equipment use with other kitchen programs
• Provide excellent customer service and address complaints appropriately
• Ensure compliance with all internal and external health and safety regulations, as well as employee policies and procedures
• Other duties as required

Rate: $22-28/ hour depending on experience
