Supporting local food and strengthening local food security is something your Co-op has championed for over 50 years, and right now that feels more relevant than ever.
Your Co-op has always prioritized local, BC, and Canadian first. You’ll still find products from America and other countries on the shelf, brought in for reasons like seasonality, variety, or affordability, so you can shop your values and your budget. Sometimes the Canadian version of a product doesn’t exist, or we simply can’t get it, distribution across the country is an ongoing challenge. When that happens, we source what’s available and keep looking for something closer to home, and we’re hopeful this renewed national focus on Canadian goods keeps chipping away at those barriers, coast to coast to coast.
There’s no better time to shop local than right now. True Local growing season is in full swing, and the produce department is bursting with local abundance.
