Giving Tree Holiday Gift Cards

Every year in December, your Co-op selects a local organization to receive our seasonal Giving Tree donations. In 2021, all proceeds from the Giving Tree were donated to Kootenay Food – who was also our Organization of the Month. Every year, customers can donate directly to Kootenay Food by choosing a beautiful greeting card and ringing it through the tills as part of their purchases or by donating at the tills when paying for their shop. 2021’s beautiful and festive cards were designed by our talented staff members, Valeria Perez + Jonathan Ramos.

Kootenay Food is operated by The West Kootenay Permaculture Co-op, a community-based cooperative working to build a healthy and resilient region through collaboration, education, media and net-positive initiatives. Guided by permaculture ethics, “care of earth, care of people and return of surplus,” some of their work includes:

• The Kootenay Herb Conference
• Kootenay Food Resiliency Project
• PICNIC
