Each month, your Co-op features a new local non-profit organization at the tills, with all till donations going directly to that group! When you shop this month, you can donate spare change or add a couple dollars to your bill to support Safe Kids & Youth (SKY) Coordinated Response.
This month we’re supporting SKY Coordinated Response, a rural model that coordinates support for children and youth who’ve experienced abuse. Care providers across the West Kootenays work together so kids and families can get help close to home, wherever they live.
Trusty is a steadfast companion and valued member of the SKY Coordinated Response team here in the Kootenays. He’s been specially trained to support children and youth when they are meeting with professionals. Trusty provides support in interviews, courtrooms, counselling sessions, and casual settings like the park. Support dogs like Trusty are proven to have a positive impact on victims of abuse.
