Community Giving: Nelson Community Food Centre!

Ways to Pay it Forward

We all get by with a little help from our friends – especially around the holidays. If you are looking to pay it forward this holiday season, we recommend donating to our local food banks and there’s a couple of ways that you can do this at your Co-op.

Nelson Community Food Centre (NCFC) is our Organization of the Month, so you can donate at the tills when you shop or you can purchase one of our Holiday Giving Tree cards where the full retail value will be donated to NCFC. It’s a great gift for that community minded person on your list – and the art work is designed by our talented staff! Check out the video below to learn a little more about what the Nelson Community Food Centre has to offer.

Monetary donations go a long way for food banks as it allows them to fund their programming and purchase products they see in the highest demand. In addition, we’ve setup a Food Donation Box for those of you who would like to purchase and donate non-perishable food items. All food will be donated to St. Saviors Food Pantry and we will match the value of the goods donated.

Thank you to all the local organizations in our communities working to make this holiday season merry + bright for us all.
