Our Season of Giving _ December 2021

Each December your Co-op donates vitamins + supplements, fresh food, and pantry staples to a variety of organizations in our communities. This year was made slightly more challenging as the flooding and shipping delays coincided with the timing of these food hamper programs. However, with the help of our network of amazing suppliers and staff at our Co-op, donations were delivered in time for the holidays!

Donations totaled approximately $8,400 and included the following organizations:

The Giving Tree program allows customers to purchase a holiday card for $10 and all the proceeds go to our Organization of the Month. For December, that organization was Kootenay Food and to all of you who purchased Giving Tree Cards or donated at the tills, thank you! The total donation to Kootenay Food was $1,600 and fully made possible by you.

$1,500 was also donated to Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation towards the purchase of priority diagnostic equipment for the Lab at Kootenay Lake Hospital. Thank you so much for supporting and shopping local – your commitment to your Co-op makes these donations possible and provides strength and resiliency to our communities.
