(presented by Mountain Munchies)
Descendant from a long line of talented Swiss cheese makers, Bruce Bergener wanted to continue the family tradition with a modern twist. He dehydrates cheese… making it super light and crunchy and eliminating the need for refrigeration – the PERFECT ADVENTURE SNACK. Enercheez is “the ultimate cheesy” for all your cheesy cravings. Meet Bruce and try this unique product at his next in-store demo!
What do you make?
Enercheez is 100% dehydrated cheese snack with one ingredient… cheese. Once opened, it’s like any other dehydrated product and can remain unrefrigerated if stored in a cool dark place, but I’m sure it won’t last that long!
How would you describe your operation?
Mountain Munchies Inc. is proud to produce the ultimate cheese snack with no additives, no artificial colours, made with BC cheese from a boutique cheese maker. Gluten free and made in a nut-free facility, we are dedicated to providing the best possible products with the utmost attention to detail in a clean and sanitized facility.
You’ve been established for just about a year now.
What motivated you to start? And what is your favourite thing about this business?
The answer to both those questions is the same… Seeing the look on peoples faces when they try a snack they never had before!
It’s just such a unique snack! What are some of your greatest challenges?
Regulations, Regulations, Regulations…
I’m sure a lot of local food processors can relate.
What’s your vision for your business?
I hope to grow considerably in the future and I’m keen to produce new and innovative products that everyone will enjoy!
I can’t wait to see what Mountain Munchies comes up with next! Why is local purchasing important to you?
It’s important to me because we are actually able to see the impact of supporting local companies and families that have the same passion that we have, especially within the food industry.
If you could deliver a message directly to Co-op members, what would it be?
Have fun, live life and CLIMB YOUR MOUNTAIN!
Note from the interviewer: I’m craving Enercheez right now. . .
